Coaching Philosophy

I believe in developing complete players — athletes who are technically sound, tactically intelligent, physically prepared, and mentally strong. My goal is not just to help you win games, but to build habits and a love for the game that will serve you throughout your life and career.

At SC Wave, we compete at the MLS NEXT level — the highest youth development platform in the country. That demands professionalism, commitment, and a growth mindset every single day. I will always challenge you to be better, communicate openly, and hold yourself to the standards this program requires.

Background

Daniel has been coaching competitive youth soccer and futsal at the highest levels for over 10 years. A former Milwaukee Wave player and current Milwaukee Wave (MASL — Pro Indoor Soccer) assistant coach, he represented the US Men's Futsal National Team as a player — including participation in the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup — and currently serves as assistant coach for the US Women's Futsal National Team. In addition to his role as MLS NEXT Director at SC Wave, he is the co-founder/owner & Executive Director of Futsal Factory Academy — one of the premier futsal development programs in the country with a heavy presence in the Midwest (IL, WI, MI and OH). He holds a USSF A-Youth License and other coaching diplomas, and has developed players who have gone on to compete at the college and professional levels.

All team communication goes through PlayMetrics. If you need to report a late arrival or absence, message through PlayMetrics or direct text as early as possible to your coach. For a personal conversation about your development, reach out to request a time.

For Parents: Please follow the 24-hour rule — wait 24 hours after any game or event before reaching out about a coaching decision. If your player has a concern, encourage them to talk to the coach first.

At times, questions and issues will come up that cannot be answered or dealt with at the team level. If an issue arises, the matter should first be addressed to the team coach. If the issue is not resolved by the team coach, please use the following chain of communication:
